NOTE: On September 11, 2010, Boondah, Storm Kills 4, and The Superbeams (making a rare live appearance), will be performing 2 shows that day, both in Troy, Ohio. One is a benefit for Special Olympics, and then an evening show at The Brewery, Boondah's home base. Come out to these shows folks. These 3 bands have not done a show together since the early days of Smiling Handshake and it will be a day to remember. And you will be helping an AMAZING cause.
-Smiling Handshake would like to welcome our 2 newest signings: THE TWITCHES, a dark folk/country artist in the vein of Tom Waits, Johnny Cash, and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Led by the eccentric Darl Herman, we will be releasing "Songs of Sorrow, Death, & Love", here in the coming months. This record will leave you with a permanent case of the "goosebumps". Absolutely breathtaking.
WINDSOR KNOTTS, a veteran of the Dayton, OH music scene, with back porch country/folk songs, that will bring back all your memories of listening to Woody Guthrie, Buddy Holly, and....HEE HAW. Yes, Winsdor tells stories with songs. He makes you laugh. He makes you, well, go to the bathroom. In a good way. We will begin recording him this fall, and report back to you soon with more info.
